Hello!
Hello & welcome to Little Blue Owl Photography My name, of course, is Keisha & I am what I like to call myself: creatively savvy! I started taking photos when I was a whippersnapper on long trips with my grandparents. We would start here in Indiana & make our way West to Colorado by making one big circle through all the western states. Sometimes we even went as far as California. My grandmother, as I call her: Memaw, would always seem a little miffed that I had already used all the film rolls after only a couple hours into the trip! So needless to say, every single second of our vacation was always on film! Plus, her camera had the panoramic option & I loved landscapes- they were wide & serene & they made me happy.
When I was a Freshman in high school I took a photography course. The school had a black room & I learned to develop my own black & white photographs. I knew then that I wanted to pursue photography as a career. I applied for the photography program at college and was excited for the first day of class. Unfortunately, I was not wealthy enough to afford the proper camera & equipment so I really did not learn too much.
So, as we can hopefully gather a little from the last sentence.........I am self taught & still learning. I do not call or consider myself a professional. Can I take photographs that look & are perceived this way? Oh most definitely! But once again, I do not claim to be a professional. I started taking photos for family, who in turn showed their photos to friends, who in turn showed those photos to co-workers....... and I could keep this going, but basically word spread that I did pretty good behind a lens. So I came up with the oh-so-catchy 'Little Blue Owl Photography'!
So now that I am named I have been more of a hit! The name must be an eye catcher!! Haha..... no really, it is brilliant! I cannot wait to take more photos for everyone! I want to put babies on scales, kiddos in baskets......to have seniors show their inner crazy & let families dog pile! You will have fun with me, I promise. Each senior has some type of moment they can remember from their session whether it be getting stuck in mud, entering but not breaking & entering, or naming cows. And parents love the photos even if they were not a part of the exciting story!
I spend as much time as needed to capture the photos you will hold in your heart forever!
I am not traditional, although I can be
I am simple & goofy
I am country & modern all in one
I take photos at odd angles
I am strictly outside........for right now
I am the budget photographer
My prices are wonderful if I do say so myself
Your uniqueness is always found through my lens
I love what I do!
My very first film camera was a see-through purple plastic thing when I around 8 years old.
Now, at 25, I use a digital SLR: Canon Rebel T2i- it is my best friend, other than my kitty cats & pup!
